ipods
I was shown a few ways to use ipods inside the classroom this summer. First off, I feel that ipods will be like computers here in a few short years. By that I mean, I think think everyone will have one....at least it would be nice to think so. Ipods are just one of the best technological devices out there. My 5 year old cousin has one as well as my 55 year old dad. They both use it for the same thing (although they have different taste in music). The main thing we used ipods for during class was listening to stories. Lets say a parent is not home to read to a child, well that is no excuse for the child to not be read aloud to. We were given multiple websites where you can download stories that children can listen to. As a teacher, you could do more with these activities :). A child could also record themselves reading or telling a story! I am sure, just like the palms, there are programs for the ipods but not all schools can afford such things. I know Apple is very generous in regards to educators (they give a good discount....and actually a few years ago I know they didn't give one for the ipod....but maybe now since so much evidence shows that these can be used in positives way, they will give an educational discount on them), it would be wonderful if schools could have at least a classroom set to use!

I think using iPods in the classroom is a great idea! Especially since many people do have them and will continue to get them! In the article that I blogged about discussed ways to use them in the classroom. I think it is a great way to incorporate technology into your lesson! Plus, many students already know how to use them and are familiar with them.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on iPods --- I'll try to bring more of that into class yet this semester. It has many possibilities - possibilities that we as educators haven't thought of yet!
