ABC Books
When we were told that we were going to create alphabet books I got really excited. Over my years here I have created many alphabet books, and shared them with differents students. At first I doubted that the old students would appreciate the books, but once I shared it with them I realized I was wrong. Alphabet books are great ways to incorporate technology. I have never used powerpoint to make a book, but now seeing how easy it is I would definitely want to implement this into my classroom. You could use it for a wide varitety of subjects, especially to help students review material.

I also like ABC books! I think it will be a lot of fun doing the project for our class. Doing this activity on Powerpoint, is a great way to incorporate technology into the lesson. Powerpoint can be incorporated into MANY different lessons!!!!
We sometimes only associate ABC books with younger students, but there are some great options for older students too. It is the 'pattern' of the book that makes it interesting for the grade level selected. One of my favorites to use with older students is The Z was Zapped by Chris Van Alsburg.
Another great alphabet book series is by the "Alphabet Man", Jerry Palotta. We were fortunate last year to have him visit our school and get to hear him speak. The kids LOVED it! Not only was there a real life author in our school, but he also talked to them about publishing books. If I would have been better prepared, I think it would have been a really great experience to have the kids create their own alphabet books like we have in class, and then get to celebrate their own publications by hearing Jerry speak!
