In order to receive your reading endorsement there are several classes you must take at Iowa State. A technology class isn’t required, yet it is given as an option. I chose to take this particular class for multiple reasons. I do enjoy technology and I hope to learn more. That is my main reason for signing up for this class. I realize that technology is a major part of the world; people can graduate from high school and college without ever having stepped into a classroom.
I do want to incorporate technology into my future classroom, whether it is a major program that I use with my students, or something as little as creating a lesson over power point. This is important to me and I know that in order for my students to succeed in the future, they need to learn how to use technology as well. This is something that I hope to gain through this class. There are several programs that I know how to use, several more that I hope to learn how to use. But I also want to learn how to teach my future students how to use a few programs.
I am really excited for this class. I know that everything we do will be hands on and interactive. I think that the projects we do will not only help us learn how to do something or use something. But they will also be things that we will be able to use in the future.

I hope the course will be valuable to you as you gain your reading endorsement. We will keep a focus on integration into classrooms so hopefully you will gain a few ideas along the way.
